Iran is home to a great number of minorities with their synagogues and churches testifying the freedom of religions in the country.

Iran is home to a great number of minorities with their synagogues and churches testifying the freedom of religions in the country.

One of these religious monuments dating back centuries ago is the Holy Bethlehem Church situated in the Iranian province of Isfahan.

The Armenian Apostolic church’s architecture and decorations are notable with age-old inscriptions.

Its rectangular outline looks quite impressive with a high dome and vast courtyard.

The walls of the church embody a treasure of elaborate paintings, representing a combination of Iranian and Italian artistic styles. They are mostly painted by European and Armenian artists depicting accounts in Christian religious references.
